Who We Are…

“The DuPage County Historical Society is a countywide, membership organization formed in 1929 to promote and celebrate the history of DuPage County, Illinois, USA. It does this primarily by issuing publications, maintaining a website, presenting programs, and partnering with other groups to support, sponsor, or host events. Membership is open to individuals, businesses, and organizations.”

The DuPage County Historical Society continues to promote and preserve the history of DuPage County through publications, tours, lectures, the presentation of History Recognition Awards, and cooperative efforts with other DuPage County historical organizations.

Recently, our 1985 history of the county, DuPage Roots, was digitized and placed on this website to make the history of the county and its individual municipalities accessible to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Future plans include updating the DuPage Roots histories (in the works for 2020) and also making other out-of-print materials available on this website.
